ABOUT
A MIAMI BEACH ICON, REIMAGINED–AND READY TO WRITE ITS NEXT CHAPTER
About The Shelborne by Proper
The Shelborne by Proper moves to a new, quietly confident rhythm of luxury—one that honors Miami Beach’s iconic past while looking distinctly forward.
Set at the intersection of 18th and Collins, this reimagined landmark blends Art Deco legacy with tropical modernism. Originally designed by Igor Polevitzky and Morris Lapidus, the building has been thoughtfully transformed by ADC Atelier, whose vision brings texture, warmth, and a contemporary lens to the storied structure.
From sunrise swims to late-night gatherings, the energy here feels lived-in, not staged. The Shelborne delivers a kind of ease that’s become rare on this side of the Beach.
Nothing is borrowed. Nothing is overly curated. This is Miami Beach, rediscovered in golden hues, soft pastels, and a refreshed sense of electric modernity.
About By Proper: A New Chapter in the Proper World
The Shelborne marks the debut of By Proper—a new expression of the Proper philosophy, created to live in more places and more ways.
At The Shelborne, that means channeling Miami’s storied spirit while shaping what comes next. Artful interiors. Intuitive hospitality. And a rhythm that feels unmistakably Proper—only now, with a Miami accent.
